2019 Ford TransitMinivan meets station wagon with the 2019 Transit Connect. This versatile, highly functional van is available as a cargo van or passenger van, with short-wheelbase or long-wheelbase, and many other customizable features and packages. Here are some of the standout features of the 2019 version.

Cargo Capacity

Dual sliding side doors are standard with all 2019 Transit Connect passenger wagon models, and combined with the low floor height of under two feet, it is easy and convenient for passengers to get in and out or for loading and unloading cargo. Offering flexible seating for five, six, or seven passengers in the passenger van, the rear seats can also be folded flat to extend the storage space. The cargo van boasts up to 127 cubic feet of space, and the passenger van can reach up to 105 cubic feet if the second and third rows of seats are folded. Dual sliding doors are standard, and you can choose between a rear liftgate or 180-degree 50/50 swing-out rear cargo doors.

Several storage areas can be found in the Transit Connect. There is a storage shelf overhead in the front and panel pockets found in the front door trim. If that isn’t enough space for you, a second-row overhead storage compartment is available, and so is a roof rack for additional storage. The 2019 Transit Connect can also tow up to 2000 pounds.

Engine and Handling

The responsive handling and accurate steering of the 2019 Transit Connect will make you forget you’re driving a van, as it feels more like a compact SUV. Easily navigate around tight spaces or fit into a small parking spot.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine produces 150 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque, while the eight-speed transmission maximizes the engine power. A direct-injected 1.5L EcoBlue Diesel is also an option for those who need a vehicle with more power. The Transit Connect features start/stop technology and front-wheel drive with both powertrain choices.

Interior Comfort

A six-way manual driver’s seat is standard. On long-wheelbase models, the second-row bucket seats fold flat. On short-wheelbase models, 60/40 bench seats are standard, though they are available for the long-wheelbase model as well. An available wireless phone charger allows you to wirelessly charge your phone simply by setting it down, with no need to take your eyes off the road and fumble with wires and ports while you’re on the go.

Safety Features

The rearview camera is standard on the 2019 Transit Connect, so you don’t need to struggle with backing out of your driveway or parking in a tight space. Also part of the Connect’s safety system is Curve Control and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control to enhance side-slip control and stabilize to prevent rollovers. Tire Pressure Monitoring comes standard, and HID headlamps are available to light your way.

Whether you prefer the cargo or passenger van, short- or long-wheelbase, or the base model or fully loaded version, Russell & Smith Ford will help you find the 2019 Transit Connect that best suits your needs.
