5 Safety Features of the 2019 Ford TaurusThe world of vehicle safety is very different than it was a decade ago. Modern vehicles should have modern ways of keeping you and your family safe on the road. The 2019 Ford Taurus has plenty of great and advanced safety features that let you navigate the world worry-free. Here are five safety features available to the 2019 Ford Taurus:

Blind Spot Information System

This driver-assisting technology is an extra pair of eyes where you can’t see. When there’s a vehicle in your blind spot, this system will alert you of it. This is a game-changer when it comes to safety on the highways. The system is also coupled with a cross-traffic alert that lets you back out of parking spaces with ease and confidence.

Adaptive Cruise Control

When you use adaptive cruise control, you set a speed for your Taurus to maintain, like traditional cruise control systems. However, this one is constantly scanning the road ahead to see if traffic is slowing. If it is, the Taurus will slow itself down until your lane opens up again. When the road is clear, it will speed up back to the pre-set speed.

Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Using the same sensors that the adaptive cruise control system uses, this feature can help you avoid collisions. When the Taurus senses a potential collision coming, it will warn the driver with a warning bar on the windshield. If the driver doesn’t apply the brakes in time, the Taurus will pre-charge its own brakes to increase responsiveness to help you get out of a bad situation if possible.

Lane-Keeping System

Protect yourself against yourself with the Ford Taurus’ lane-keeping system. Day or night, this system measures where your vehicle is within its lane to see if you’re drifting out of it or not. If it does sense you exiting your lane without a turn signal on, it will warn you through steering wheel vibrations that feel like you’re driving over a rumble strip on the side of the road. If you use the lane-keeping assist system, the Taurus will make small steering adjustments for you to keep you in your lane.

Active Park Assist

If you’ve ever stressed over maneuvering your vehicle into a parallel parking spot, this feature was created for you. When you activate active park assist, it begins to scan the street beside you for an acceptable parking spot. It measures spaces between parked cars and the curb until it finds one that will fit the Taurus. When it does, the system asks you to stop and let it take control. Though you still control shifting, braking, and acceleration, the Taurus takes the wheel to guide itself into the parking spot.
