Standard on Intelligent 4WD, Expedition's easy-to-use Terrain Management System™ lets customers select from seven special drive modes that help Expedition automatically adapt to different road conditions. The drive modes include Normal for around-town driving, Sport for more spirited trips, Tow/Haul for improved towing and hauling performance, Eco for enhanced fuel economy, Grass/Gravel/Snow for loose terrain, Sand for low-traction situations, and Mud/Ruts for uneven surfaces. Expedition drivers also can manually select either 2WD or 4WD modes in a given drive mode, depending on their preferences and the terrain.

Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Braking

If the system's sensors detect a potential collision with a car or pedestrian in front of you, a warning flashes and an audible alert sounds. Also, the brakes will precharge and increase brake-assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when you do brake. If you do not take corrective action and a collision is imminent, the brakes can automatically apply.

BLIS® With Cross-Traffic Alert

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert uses radar to identify if a vehicle is detected in your blind spot and can alert you with an indicator light in the appropriate exterior mirror. Cross-Traffic Alert also uses radar to watch for traffic behind you as you're slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. Lane-Keeping System

The Lane-Keeping System can help you stay in your lane, even during a moment of distraction. This smart feature scans your vehicle's position between the lines in the road ahead and can alert you if you're starting to edge out of your lane. Having trouble staying on track? After you've drifted a few times, you'll see a coffee cup icon, letting you know it's time to take a break.

Rear View Camera

The Rear View Camera provides a video image on the standard eight-inch LCD touchscreen of the area behind your vehicle. The camera is activated when you shift into Reverse and back up slowly. The screen has guides to help you align your vehicle with a trailer or assist you with backing up in tight places.

Enhanced Active Park Assist

While you're driving slowly near parking spots, activate this available feature and your Expedition will scan for an available one. Ultrasonic sensors measure your distance from parked vehicles and, once an appropriate spot is identified, you're signaled to stop and accept the system's assistance. With a few actions on your part - shifting, accelerating and braking - the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space.
