The Ford Explorer is a powerful SUV with the versatility to give you the power you want out of your ride. There are three engine options to choose from:

• 2.3L EcoBoost^® I-4
• 3.0L EcoBoost^® V6
• 3.3L Hybrid

All three of these engines have upwards of 300 horsepower and work with a rear-wheel or available intelligent four-wheel drive.

If you are interested in heading off-road to explore, the Explorer offers an available Terrain Management System™ that lets you change your drive to match the terrain.

Interior

The Explorer is a stylish SUV, inside and out. The interior offers room for five seats that can be:

• Cloth seating material
• ActiveX™ seating material
• Leather seating material

To keep everyone comfortable while you’re on the go, the Explorer has standard Tri-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control, letting you set three different temperatures.

Technology is also a big part of the Explorer, with an infotainment system that lets you stream music, get directions, and connect your smartphone. SiriusXM^® Satellite Radio is also available so that you can listen to the radio, including sports channels, talk radio, and genre-specific stations.

Trim Levels

The Ford Explorer has eight trim levels to choose from.

The base trim of the Explorer is called the Explorer. With it, you’ll get the standard 2.3L EcoBoost^® I-4 engine.

The next trim up is the XLT trim. This trim allows for an available twin-panel moonroof and remote start capability.

The third trim is the ST-Line. The ST-Line has rain-sensing windshield wipers, which activate when rain hits the windshield.

The mid-tier trim for the Explorer is the Timberline. This off-road-ready trim has steel skid plates in the front, rear, and bottom. You’ll also get a standard Terrain Management System™.

Next up is the Limited trim with an available 3.3L Hybrid engine for fuel-saving journeys.

One of the highest trim levels is the ST trim. Under the hood, the 3.0L EcoBoost^® V6 engine makes the ST a sporty trim, generating 400 horsepower.

The second-highest trim is the King Ranch trim. The King Ranch has its style with:

• Del Rio leather
• Lasso-perforated inserts

The highest and last trim level is the Platinum trim. Enjoy Tri-Diamond perforated leather-trimmed seats and available twin-panel moonroofs that give you plenty of natural light.
