2021 Ford Escape: Engine Options and Fuel Economy

The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® offers 181 horsepower and an EPA-estimated 28 city/34 highway MPG. If you’re looking for a little more power, the other gas engine, the 2.0L EcoBoost®, delivers an impressive 250 horsepower, along with:

- EPA-estimated 31 highway MPG
The two hybrid engines are 2.5L engines, one is a plug-in hybrid and the other is fully hybrid. The hybrid engine offers 200 horsepower while the plug-in version gives you a little more at 221 horsepower. Either way, you’ll get excellent fuel economy, with the hybrid engine delivering:

- EPA-estimated 37 highway MPG
